OUR COMMITMENT

Health & safety

Smart Assistance Company is committed to putting people’s safety at the center of project planning. Our approach is to agree responsibilities, review site requirements, and raise unresolved risks before mobilization. A schedule or production target must not be used to justify unsafe work.

Aramco vendor

Smart Assistance Company is an Aramco vendor. We recognize that each assignment carries its own safety, security, qualification, and documentation requirements.

Project-specific assurance

Vendor status is distinct from project-specific technical approvals, workforce qualifications, cybersecurity certificates, and ISO certification. Required credentials and supporting records are confirmed for the applicable scope and validity during project review.

Requirements & reference points

HRSD · occupational safety

Saudi occupational safety requirements cover hazard information, suitable protective equipment, training, and understandable safety instructions. Required protection must not be charged to workers.

Aramco · supplier resources

For an Aramco-related scope, establish the applicable contract requirements and obtain the current authorized safety documents through the client. Aramco’s public resource page identifies restricted safety manuals and workforce qualification resources.

Reference review: 17 September 2026

Applicable law, authority instructions, and the client’s current contractual requirements determine the final project controls. Reconfirm revisions before work begins.

Controls to agree for your scope

Use these planning topics to discuss the work with our team. The responsible project specialists must assess the actual site, specify safe methods, and authorize the work.

01Risk assessment & work authorizationDefine the job before selecting controls.
  • Review task hazards, adjacent operations, changes in conditions, and emergency access with the site team.
  • Agree task risk assessments, method statements, permit requirements, and the people authorized to issue or accept permits.
  • Stop an affected activity when controls are missing or conditions change; reassess and obtain the responsible authorization before restarting.
02Competence, induction & PPEMatch the person, training, and protection to the task.
  • Confirm role-specific qualifications, operator authorizations, supervision, and any client-required trade assessment.
  • Agree site induction, task briefings, toolbox talks, and records in languages the workforce understands.
  • Select suitable PPE for the assessed exposure; confirm fit, condition, replacement, and training in its use.
03Heat stress & worker welfarePlan for Saudi conditions throughout the year.
  • Check the current HRSD direct-sun work restrictions, their scope, and any officially applicable exceptions before scheduling outdoor work.
  • Assess heat exposure and arrange suitable drinking water, shaded or cooled rest, acclimatization, and work-rest schedules through the responsible team.
  • Agree access to welfare facilities, first aid, and a clear escalation route for anyone feeling unwell.
04Height, excavation & restricted spacesHigh-risk activities need task-specific specialist review.
  • For work at height, establish suitable access, edge protection, inspected equipment, competent supervision, and a rescue plan.
  • Before excavation, confirm underground-service information, permits, protective arrangements, barriers, and safe access.
  • For confined-space entry, require the site’s approved permit, competent assessment, isolation, atmosphere controls, standby arrangements, and rescue readiness.
05Energy isolation & hot workControl hazardous energy and ignition sources.
  • Agree who isolates, verifies, and reinstates electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or other hazardous energy under the site procedure.
  • For welding, cutting, or other hot work, confirm authorization, area preparation, fire prevention, and required monitoring.
  • Review nearby combustible materials and concurrent activities before work; reassess if the conditions change.
06Equipment, lifting & trafficSeparate people from moving plant and suspended loads.
  • Confirm equipment suitability, maintenance, inspection evidence, and the operator’s authorization for the intended task.
  • Agree the lifting plan, load information, ground conditions, rigging, competent personnel, and exclusion zones with the responsible specialist.
  • Coordinate delivery routes, pedestrian separation, reversing controls, and secure loading or unloading areas.
07Emergency readiness & learningMake the response clear before an incident occurs.
  • Agree alarms, evacuation routes, assembly points, accountable persons, and the site’s emergency contact arrangements.
  • Confirm first-aid coverage, suitable fire arrangements, and drills required by the site plan and competent authorities.
  • Define immediate reporting, preservation of relevant evidence, investigation responsibilities, corrective actions, and follow-up for incidents and near misses.

HRSD · 2026 heat protection update

Heat protection continues beyond the seasonal direct-sun restriction. The 2026 HRSD announcement explicitly calls for year-round risk assessment and preventive controls. Check each year’s official decision rather than assuming the same dates or exceptions.

BEFORE MOBILIZATION

Documentation for project review

The required documents, responsible party, validity, and submission dates should be agreed before mobilization. Availability is confirmed during project review.

Health & safety / Documentation for project review
Document / recordWhat to confirm
Project HSE plan & responsibilitiesScope, reporting lines, site interfaces, and approved revisions.
Risk assessments & work methodsTask hazards, agreed controls, permits, and change review.
Personnel & equipment recordsRelevant competence, induction, authorizations, and current inspections.
Emergency & incident arrangementsSite response plan, contacts, reporting routes, and action ownership.

Shared responsibility

The agreed scope must identify the employer, contractor, site operator, and specialist responsibilities. Client approval does not remove an employer’s legal duties or replace competent supervision.

BEFORE MOBILIZATION

Let’s align your site requirements.

Share the scope, location, client requirements, and required evidence. We can discuss responsibilities and the next steps before a proposal is agreed.
